City ranks 7th in air quality
    2021-10-01  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN’S air quality ranked seventh out of 168 key cities in China between January and August, statistics from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment showed recently.

The top 10 cities were Haikou, Lhasa, Huangshan, Zhoushan, Lishui, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Fuzhou and Zhongshan.

Statistics showed the average PM2.5 concentration, a key indicator of air pollution, of 339 cities between January and August was 29 micrograms per cubic meter, down by 6.5 percent year on year. In the first eight months of the year, the average PM10 concentration of these cities was 53 micrograms per cubic meter, up by 1.9 percent year on year.

Shenzhen will continue implementing Blue Sky Sustainable Development Action Plan for 2021 and has planned to complete rectifications of 150 polluting enterprises, renovations of low nitrogen burners of 30 LNG boilers and build five shared workshops for car spray coating to improve the air quality, sources from the city’s ecology and environment bureau showed.
