SZ ranks 3rd in average monthly salary

SHENZHEN’S average monthly salary in the third quarter (Q3) was 11,976 yuan (US$1,853), ranking third among 38 major cities in the country, according to a report released by online recruitment platform Zhaopin.com.

The figure represented a month-on-month growth of more than 4 percent, showing a strong momentum, the Daily Sunshine reported.

Beijing and Shanghai ranked first and second in terms of average monthly salary from July to September.

In terms of monthly income by industry, the financial industry ranked first with 12,711 yuan.

In terms of monthly income by position, IT managers and project coordinators topped the list with 25,666 yuan, followed by senior managers with 22,328 yuan and securities, futures and investment managers and service providers with 15,325 yuan.

In addition, in the sectors of software, internet development and system integration, artificial intelligence-related positions were paid the highest, with those working in autonomous driving raking in an average 32,445 yuan monthly.

China’s Q3 average monthly salary reached 9,739 yuan, an increase of 4.2 percent month on month and up 12.1 percent year on year. The monthly median and mode were 7,501 yuan and 5,001 yuan, respectively.

Moreover, Guangzhou, Zhuhai and Nanjing were newly added to the list of cities with average monthly salaries above 10,000 yuan.
