Personal bankruptcy

SHENZHEN Intermediate People’s Court received 756 applications since Shenzhen’s regulation on personal bankruptcy went into effect in March this year.

A total of 17 cases began bankruptcy procedures and five cases were closed, according to Shenzhen Economic Daily.

The court handed down its ruling for the country’s first personal bankruptcy case in July, which was filed by a Shenzhen-based entrepreneur surnamed Liang who was saddled with debts of about 750,000 yuan (US$116,100) after a failed business venture.

Expressway project

CONSTRUCTION of Phase II of the city’s outer ring expressway was concluded and is scheduled for operation by the end of this year, Shenzhen Evening News reported.

Extending 9.35 kilometers, the expressway starts at the Longgang section of Huizhou-Yantian Expressway and ends at Danzi Boulevard in Pingshan District.
