Hyun-ju Han, Gounee Yang Global Economic News SAMSUNG Electronics has recently filed a counter lawsuit against Netlist, a small and medium-sized semiconductor firm in the United States, to confirm the invalidity of patent infringement. Samsung said that it is unfairly suspected of patent infringement and is also demanding compensation for business damage. Netlist was established by a former South Korean chip company executive. The firm has been in patent disputes with SK Hynix for five years starting from 2016 to this year. Samsung filed its lawsuit Oct. 15 to confirm “invalid patent infringement” in the Delaware District Court in the United States. Netlist claims that its four patents related to memory modules that it registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office were infringed by Samsung. In response, Samsung refutes that the patent infringement claimed by Netlist is invalid. |
