X-Factor grandmother, 78, is laid to rest in Star Wars-themed funeral
    2021-10-25  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A BRITISHWOMAN had one final wish for her funeral — she wanted to be escorted in the cemetery by Darth Vader and stormtroopers.

Brenda Morris, 78, had her final wish come true. Originally, she had planned to donate her body to science but that couldn’t happen so the former chemistry teacher had the request for the workers at the Thomas Brothers funeral home in Redditch.

Funeral director Mark Thomas bought the Darth Vader and stormtrooper costumes online and they wore them to escort Morris on her final trip. She didn’t want the procession to meander through the streets, so instead she had instructed Thomas to get her “fast down the highway.”

Thomas said they stuck to the speed limit, but the normally, slow trip was done in about two minutes.

Thomas and his stormtroopers practiced before they took Morris to the crematorium.

Morris was also known for her appearance on “The X Factor” in 2010, where she performed Pink’s “So What.”
