SMBU has signed MoUs with Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russian Population Research Institute, Far Eastern Federal University, and the University of Latvia and Interfax to carry out cooperation in people-to-people exchanges, scientific research and teaching, innovative practice and other fields, thus pushing international exchanges and cooperation to a new level. SMBU vigorously organizes students to apply for the study-abroad programs of the China Scholarship Council, and one such effort was the successful signing of an exchange and training agreement with Lomonosov Moscow State University for undergraduate students. The successful recruitment of the first batch of preparatory students who are about to study in Russia not only links up the studies from preparatory education to postdoctoral research, but also highlights SMBU’s role as an exchange platform. In September 2017, four supporting activities of the 18th Meeting of the China-Russia People-to-People Cooperation Committee were held in Shenzhen, of which SMBU’s school-opening ceremony was an important activity. In July 2019, the 19th meeting of the education cooperation sub-committee of the China-Russia People-to-People Cooperation Committee was held in Shenzhen, and was co-chaired by the two countries’ ministers of education. SMBU has become an important platform for people-to-people exchanges between China and Russia. More than 20 delegations from Russia’s political, educational, sports and business circles have visited SMBU since the university’s founding. The China-Russia Friendship Committee for Peace and Development has admitted SMBU as a member, and the relevant councils of education, science and innovation, industrialists, youths, local cooperation and other committees will render support to SMBU. |
