The expansion project of Keyuan Primary School of Nanshan Foreign Language School (Group) was put into operation last year, offering new school space and new technology facilities to students. The school will add about 450 vacancies for students to apply.

A milestone for the development of the primary school, the operation of the new facilities, as Li Bin, headmaster of the school had put it, is a gift to mark the 20th anniversary of the school.

After the renovation and expansion, the school has additional floor space in the building connected with the old building through an aerial corridor. The buildings are equipped with education resources such as the Hall of Sinology and the Hall of Han Dynasty Bricks for students to learn traditional Chinese culture, and the DJI Maker Studio, audio-visual room and TV center for students to grasp advanced media skills.

At the DJI Maker Studio, a project jointly developed by DJI and the school, students will be able to have regular classes to learn modern skills.

As a school featuring foreign language teaching, the school also decorated two rooms for Model United Nations, a popular program around the world for juveniles who are interested in learning about the UN through simulations that reflect the way the UN works.

“The school had participated in the simulation program for many years and is known for it. Previously, the students did not have a fixed venue for their practice; now they are able to gather in quality facilities to discuss, debate and present their opinions on world issues,” said Tang Xiaoquan, an officer and director of the school, at an interview.

The expansion project was kicked off in June 2019 on 5,000 square meters of land near the original campus. It is one of the nine school projects that had undergone construction, reconstruction and renovation.

Through 20 years of development, the school has won titles including the model school in reading in Guangdong and in Shenzhen, and excellent organizing unit for activities of Shenzhen Reading Month, among others.
