A film review on ‘Chinese Doctors’
    2021-11-10  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Soon after its release, the film “Chinese Doctors,” given a rarely high score of 9.4 by Douban, has broken the box office of 1 billion tickets. Starting from the treatment process of Jinyintan Hospital, the movie has offered a successful restoration of the arduous anti-epidemic process in Wuhan, which deeply moves every audience.

Although human beings are physically limited, they are limitless in terms of mental and spiritual power.

Looking into every character, I saw their respectful strength while also helplessness in the face of illnesses. Under the pressure of the devil, both the doctors and the patients get afraid, collapse, and want to give up. In the movie, a young nurse cries her heart out after being informed that her parents have been infected. These are the natural common reactions of people in the face of threat or crisis.

However, when people become united and give strength to each other, it’s as if there is nothing that could not be defeated. Even when everything appears to be at its worst, the patients together with the nurses in the confinement of the hospital sing, dance and hug each other, to share hope and courage.

What you think is a light journey may actually have a heavy part carried by others. This battle reminds us again the essence of the Chinese spirit: sacrifice, devotion and passion. Let’s cherish the memory of the battle and keep our heads up!
