The second volume of the “Encyclopedia for Hi-Tech Whys” compiled by professors of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) was recently released by the university, offering readers a chance to learn in an easy way about the latest cutting-edge technologies.

Published by Guangdong Science and Technology Press, the series of books will not only answer questions about the development of the latest technologies, but also spark interest and curiosity for learning about science and technology.

At the launch ceremony, Li Fengliang, secretary of the SUSTech Committee of the CPC, said SUSTech was also tasked to spread knowledge of the sciences and popularize sciences, while making progress and breakthroughs in science research.

“The professors of the university are building a platform connecting science and the public through publishing a science culture magazine, in preparation for the construction of a culture center and science museum. Through the series of books for science popularization, which are easy to read and understand, we hope students will learn to love science,” said Li.

The university and publishing house also donated books to the libraries of primary and middle schools at the ceremony.

A popular science exhibition was also held at the ceremony with displays of 35 photos showing the university’s science research achievements, progress in science popularization and an exploration into the future.
