On November 20, the “Youngsters and the Sea” Marine Model Education Competition, a part of the series events of the second “Blue China” Marine Culture Popular Science Education, was successfully concluded at the Shenzhen University Marine Culture Popular Science Education (Cruise Home Port) Base in Nanshan District. Divided into three groups named “Forward to the Sea,” “Exploring the Deep Blue” and “Sea Patrol,” 100 young participants were required to independently make models of the Red Boat, a Liaoning aircraft carrier, a Jiaolong manned submersible, the research icebreakers Xuelong and Jiaolong, the fast attack boat missile Hailong and the China Coast Guard through static assembly of vessel models, straight line navigation, remote control around the mark, and paper airplane landings. The panel of judges included the champion of the 2019 World Aeromodeling Design Challenge, a champion of the marine modeling competition in the National Games, a first-class judge of marine modeling, a famous Hong Kong modeling educator, and a technical representative of the National RC Aero Model Pilot License.
