SWISS watchmaker Roger Dubuis has announced its newest collaboration project with world-renowned tattoo artist Dr. Woo, enlisting the help from LA’s most sought-after tattooist to produce a timepiece of art. The limited-edition Roger Dubuis Excalibur Dr. Woo Monotourbillon, the result of the collaboration, has arrived at Roger Dubuis’ Shenzhen boutique at Shenzhen Bay MixC in Nanshan District, the watch brand said Wednesday. The Excalibur Dr. Woo MT is a 42 mm limited-edition timepiece handcrafted from Eon Gold encased with a clear sapphire crystal. The dial design is where Roger Dubuis incorporates Dr. Woo’s personalized touch, with different symbols such as a rocket ship, a cosmic map or other symbols representing his relation to time. The Excalibur Dr. Woo MT features the RD512 caliber that has a power reserve of 72 hours thanks to the tourbillion carriages made from titanium. For Dr. Woo, spiders symbolize strength and protection. As a result, there is a spider hidden in different positions on the dial of each Excalibur Dr. Woo MT, adding uniqueness to the watch. The transparent back case includes engravings and production numerics on the outer portion to signify the special release from Roger Dubuis x Dr. Woo. To add comfort and reliability, the special edition Excalibur features a Black 3D calf leather strap engraved with Dr. Woo’s language symbols. The new product launches in just eight pieces worldwide.(Zhang Yu) |
