“This two-day trip is really informative. We have seen Shenzhen’s rapid changes and development. Every day is different here. Now with a new starting point [further deepening the reform and opening up of the cooperation zone], we are more confident about Qianhai’s prosperous future,” said Chen Jintong from China.com.cn.

Chen added that the trip enabled them to see the happy life in Shenzhen. “Only by living happily can people feel confident about their future development. This is why we feel confident and proud,” Chen said.

In September, the Central Government issued a new plan for further developing the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone. According to the plan, the zone’s reform and opening up will be comprehensively deepened. The total area of the cooperation zone has been expanded to 120.56 square kilometers from 14.92 square kilometers.

The new blueprint was formulated to help Qianhai better play an exemplary and leading role in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), as per the plan.

By 2035, Qianhai will boast a world-class business environment, and will become an engine for high-quality development with strong capability in global resource allocation, breeding innovation and leading coordinated development, according to goals laid out in the new development plan.
