HANG Seng Qianhai Fund Management will relocate to Qianhai next month, Arthur Liu, CEO of the company, told reporters from around the country at their new office in Qianhai on Sunday. The office overlooks the sea and the giant Ferris wheel called “Bay Glory.”

Hang Seng Bank and Shenzhen Qianhai Financial Holdings Co. Ltd. (QFH) established Hang Seng Qianhai Fund Management Co. Ltd., the mainland’s first onshore overseas-majority-owned joint venture fund management company, in 2016. Hang Seng Bank holds a 70-percent stake in the joint venture and QFH holds 30 percent.

“Our company was founded on July 1, 2016, and we have gone through a long development period. Now we have entered a new development period. At the beginning of this year, we decided to move our headquarters and main office to Qianhai. All our colleagues in Shenzhen will work here,” Liu said.

Liu added that now is a very important period. Qianhai is highly developed with convenient transportation and other infrastructures, which is good for the company to carry out business development.

“The Shenzhen-Hong Kong international financial city is also under construction. More and more institutions will settle down here, which will facilitate our cooperation. In addition, our company is a marriage between Shenzhen and Hong Kong,” Liu said.

“Many new policies have been released this year. The country pays unprecedented attention to Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation, cross-border cooperation and the development of the financial industry. Our relocation to Qianhai at this special moment will utilize all advantages and enable the company to enter a new development period,” he noted.

Liu said that he came to Qianhai for the first time near the end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014 and the area has seen tremendous changes since then. “The changes are huge. Back at that time, we walked on dirt roads. Now everything is convenient here — transportation, infrastructure and connection with other areas of the city. The views we see from here are also spectacular,” Liu said. He added that Qianhai and Hang Seng are like magnets that attract talents.

The company and its employees also benefit from preferential policies in Qianhai including subsidies for office rent, tax cuts and talent apartments.
