A night of Chopin classics
    2021-12-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Young Chinese pianist Wang Chao will play Chopin’s “Sonata in B Minor, Op. 58,” “Nocturne in C-sharp Minor, Op. 27, No. 1,” “Nocturne in D-flat Major, Op. 27, No. 2,” “Fantasie in F Minor, Op. 49,” “Ballade in G Minor, Op. 23” and “Andante Spianato and Grand Brilliant Polonaise, Op. 22.”

Wang has won the Grand Prix at the Concours Européen de Piano, the Takamatsu International Piano Competition, the Geneva International Piano Competition and the Bucharest International Youth Piano Competition, to name a few. He obtained the Konzertexamen certification from the Berlin University of the Arts and his performances were described as “sounds like a palette” by France Musique Radio.

His performance was lauded by the Shikoku News as “featuring splendid technique, as well as demonstrating appealing emotion and pure timbre.” In 2015, his debut album, featuring works by Liszt and Chopin, was released worldwide by Acousence Records.

Wang studied at the middle school affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin and the Berlin University of the Arts.
