Liu Haotao, Class 9, Senior 1, Shenzhen Xin’an Middle School Instructed by Tang Ying Last Monday, we had an English speaking lesson and it was filled with happiness. My teacher Rose introduced herself in a gentle and pleasing voice with beautiful English pronunciation and intonation spoken slowly. What’s more, she asked us to say “I can speak good English,” to lift our learning spirits. Then she used a proverb to tell us the importance of learning English — “Education should be geared to the needs of modernization, the world and the future.” After that, Rose required everyone in the class to say a complete sentence when we answer a question. We are supposed to listen to others’ replies carefully because listening is rather significant for us to improve English. She also told a story that inspired us a lot. “When I was as young as you, my spoken English were actually poorer than yours!” “Learning English is a process of making mistakes, and the more mistakes you make, the more progress you will make,” she said. Through this class, I have gained so much. I sincerely look forward to have her next class as soon as possible. |
