Shenzhen Yadi School in Dapeng New Area has won the “School of the Year” title for its efforts in promoting science and innovation education among students. We focus on diversified development through scientific and innovative education.” Yadi students have won a number of awards and competitions such as the Zayed Future Energy Prize, awards at the iENA International Inventors’ Fair, INPEX(the Pittsburgh International Invention Exhibition) in the United States, and the China Youth Creativity Competition. Wu Yuxin won the gold medal at the 17th China Youth Creativity Competition for her invention of a mechanical infusion finish shut-off device. “The invention of this product was because I saw in the news the incident of medical accidents caused by adverse reactions to infusion, and at that time I approached Mr. Cheng of the science group to share my idea, and the teacher was in favor of it as soon as he heard it,” Wu said. At present, Yadi School has more than 60 student clubs of robotics, 3D printing, new energy and others, with a number of practical courses such as mind mapping, Alpha go Everest robotics, new energy vehicles, marine science and technology, and new energy research experience. The school also organizes an annual science and technology festival. It also has formed a science and innovation curriculum system that incorporates new energy technology, marine technology, biotechnology, invention and innovation, and artificial intelligence. The school has introduced many high-quality science and technology education resources, and works with BYD, BGI College, the Guangdong Ocean University Shenzhen Research Institute, Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, Shenzhen Astronomical Observatory, National Gene Bank, and Nature School to develop science and technology curricula and practical off-campus courses, in a bid to broaden students’ horizons and help them put knowledge into practice.
