BEIJING GUOAN tied 1-1 with Shandong Taishan to end Shandong’s 10-game winning streak Wednesday. Shandong had been crowned the 2021 Chinese Super League (CSL) champion in the previous round with three matches to play, ending an 11-year CSL title drought. In the 16th minute, Cao Yongjing of Guoan intercepted the ball and passed it to his Brazilian teammate Anderson Silva, who carried the ball into the penalty area and volleyed to score first. Twelve minutes later, Pedro Delgado shot a corner and Dai Lin added a gentle kick to tie the game for Shandong. Shandong had the chance to continue their unbeaten record in the 45th minute when Jadson headed the corner by Xu Xin into the net, but was disallowed by VAR for offside. Elsewhere, Guangzhou FC added three points to retain its second place with a 2-0 victory over Hebei FC. (Xinhua) |
