AS large-scale events have been canceled across the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more New Year celebrations have transformed into virtual events. In Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province, the Xinzha International Innovation Zone built by the government has also ushered in a new cultural industry park: Wuzhen Lang Yuan•Art.

Operated by Lang Park, a Beijing-based cultural industry brand, Wuzhen Lang Yuan•Art is positioned as a “digital international cultural and art village.”

From Dec. 31, 2021, to Sunday, Wuzhen Lang Yuan•Art is holding a 10-day event called Decameron in Wuzhen inspired by Italian Renaissance writer Boccaccio, hoping to discuss “humanism” in the post-pandemic era with Chinese young people.

The event is in the form of offline salon and online live broadcast, covering various fields of culture and art. At the same time, there are also youth video and art exhibition, immersive installation exhibition reflecting body anxiety, blue dye workshop of intangible cultural heritage, acting workshop, improvised drama performance and other activities.

Decameron in Wuzhen will present an aesthetic collision and wonderful exchange for ideas, and also bring new hope for the construction of digital culture and art ecology in Wuzhen.

Wuzhen International Humanities and Arts Village will officially open Wednesday. And joint incubation plan, content strategic cooperation, several signing ceremony initiated by Wuzhen Lang Yuan•Art will be released on the same day.
