SOME 30 leading financial enterprises and research institutions, such as Guosen Securities, the Greater Bay Area Institute for Financial Research and Industrial Bank, recruited young Chinese talents at a job fair held in Hall 1 of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District at the 15th Shenzhen International Finance Expo (Shenzhen Finexpo).

As the first career fair of Shenzhen Finexpo, the event presented 294 vacancies for 141 high-end occupations, of which the highest annual salary reaches 1 million yuan (US$156,791), said one of the event’s organizers, the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT Shenzhen).

For this year, recruiters have expressed urgent demand for Information Technology (IT) talents, said CCPIT Shenzhen. Companies seeking ideal candidates for posts in software development, quantitative data analysis, blockchain management and Artificial Intelligence (AI) research accounted for almost 70 percent of the total. The recruitment continues online with each company accepting resumes via its website.

CITIC Futures, a Shenzhen-headquartered futures company, offers the most positions and recruits the most employees, which are 37 and 65, respectively. Most posts require a bachelor’s degree and up from domestic or overseas prestigious universities.

The 1-million-yuan annual salary is an appealing offer given out by Shenzhen ChengQi Capital, a quantitative investment management company, which plans to recruit 30 people for five posts including a quantitative strategy researcher and a machine learning researcher.

“Via the expo, we hope to attract young IT talents born in the 1990s and 2000s to grow together with ChengQi and dedicate themselves to China’s smart finance development,” said Zhang Xiang, Administrative Director of the company.

Organized by CCPIT Shenzhen and the Municipal Local Financial Regulatory Bureau, the expo, showcasing the latest achievements in financial services and technologies, aims to build a platform for exhibition and trade of financial services, and a cooperation and exchange platform for financial innovation.
