MOBILE payments, online shopping, making a nucleic acid testing appointment and other services offered by Tencent’s WeChat app are catching the eyes of foreign visitors at China Pavilion’s Smart Life exhibition during Expo 2020 Dubai.

Tencent, as China Pavilion’s official partner, has actively participated in creating innovative and smart experiences for the pavilion’s visitors.

“We contributed to designing and building a series of smart scenes for exhibition, including smart community, smart retail, and smart health care. These scenes showcase China’s hard power in science and technology, but also embody the humanity of China’s digital construction,” said Xiong Yixue, a representative of Tencent.

“We also set up a virtual China Pavilion with multimedia technologies and platforms, like miniprograms and short videos,” Xiong added. On the same day when the Expo started, a WeChat miniprogram called “Tour around the China Pavilion” was launched. The miniprogram, jointly launched by Tencent and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, brings an immersive VR experience of the China Pavilion to visitors from around the world.

In the coming corporate day event Monday, Tencent will livestream a series of themed talks, including Tech for Culture, Tech for Smart Life and Tech for Good to showcase its achievements in the internet industry, artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
