LOGISTICS service in Bantian, Longgang District, dubbed as the base for cross-border e-commerce, was affected due to the COVID-19 prevention and control measures. Bantian area is the collection and distribution center for 60 percent of the city’s cross-border e-commerce products. Bantian has been in the spotlight since Jan. 7 when a couple living in Buji were reported to have positive nucleic acid test results. One of them works in Liantang, Luohu District, and the other works in Bantian, Longgang District. Some areas including industrial parks and housing complexes in Bantian were put under control with more cases reported. In the closed area, people can enter only and are not allowed to exit. In the controlled area, factory employees can enter the industrial parks with 48-hour negative nucleic acid test reports. As China’s cross-border e-commerce base, Bantian’s logistics has been affected by the pandemic’s resurgence. With many sellers setting up warehouses in Bantian’s industrial parks, the situation has delayed deliveries for commodities, a report from Southern Metropolis Daily said yesterday, quoting companies in Bantian. Under tightened controlled measures, drivers coming to and leaving warehouses in Bantian need stricter checks, delaying deliveries even though enterprises are actively cooperating with the measures. Outside the sealed and controlled areas, employees are required to take nucleic acid tests when entering industrial parks in Bantian. Many employees choose to take the test one hour before leaving their offices for home so their work for the next day won’t be affected. Some companies allow their employees to work from home if their businesses can be done online. (Han Ximin) |
