Reporter gets hit by truck on live TV and continues with report
    2022-01-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A LOT can happen on live television. Correspondents must be wary even of reports on everyday subjects. This is shown by a television report from the U.S., which caused a stir on the internet. The footage shows a car hitting a reporter.

On Jan. 19, Tori Yorgey from local television station WSAZ-TV was struck by a passing car during a live broadcast in Dunbar, West Virginia, while she was on the air.

She was reporting a breakdown in the city’s water main when a car suddenly hit her from behind and caused her to fall. Despite the dramatic images, Yorgey escaped without serious damage to her body and was able to finish her report.

News anchor Tim Irr was not upset by the incident. However, his facial expressions suggested that the incident confused and worried him too. The reporter reassured her colleague in the studio and viewers by saying:

“Oh my god! I just got hit by a car but I’m fine.”

She added that she had been approached in a similar way in college. The driver apologized to Yorgey. The journalist then replied: “Ma’am, you are so nice, everything is OK.”

While Yorgey set the camera back up, the presenter briefly asked where exactly the car had taken her. The reporter then said that she no longer knew: “My whole life has flashed before my eyes.” (SD-Agencies)
