Drama reflects common marriage problems of young couples
    2022-01-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A DRAMA series “As We Wish” that tells stories of how today’s young couples seek for happiness and a cozy and comfortable married life has aired on Mango TV and CCTV8 recently.

One of the protagonists, Liao Sha, played by actress Yin Tao, is a real estate saleswoman who appears to be an ambitious and competitive workaholic.

Her husband, Fang Cheng, portrayed by actor Sun Yizhou, is a good-tempered programmer who doesn’t care much about promotion. Tensions often arise within their marriage as the wife is disappointed by the husband’s lack of pursuit in his career.

After going through several setbacks together, the couple learn to understand each other more and gradually grasp the philosophy of how to manage a harmonious marriage. The drama’s scriptwriters, Sun Jianye and Xiao Yanfei, a married couple in real life, said they wanted to incorporate their own understandings on family relations into the storyline.

“We didn’t put in too many dramatic conflicts into the story. Instead, we wanted to show how the husband and the wife, who are surely in love with each other, deal with common marriage problems and support each other in pursuit of their happiness,” added Xiao.
