Most people want to be successful in their life. Some people believe showing others their strengths or accomplishments will help them achieve success easily, while others think the opposite. For me, I agree with the former.

In my opinion, not showing others your strengths and achievements will make them ignore your values. It is almost impossible for investors and entrepreneurs to know your potential values such as skills in calculation, designing or inventing new things, and so on.

The bosses and influential people are always busy; therefore, they seldom have time to know you if you do not show your potential in a short time.

Even though you have great talents that companies are seeking, they would not hire you without knowing them.

For example, I have a friend named Tim, a clerk in a large company. He is excellent in accounting, and he can summarize a pile of data sheets to a list in only half an hour, which is pretty impressive. However, he never shows his accounting skills to his superiors. In the superiors’ eyes, he is just an ordinary clerk, sitting in his seat and staring at the computer without showing any positive characteristics. His superiors are very disappointed about his performance and even want to fire him. That’s very unfair to him. Because if he showed his strengths to them, he may have the chance to be promoted.

Hence, if a person doesn’t let others know his strengths, he may lose the chance to succeed.

Faced with fierce competition, people who do not show their strengths find it difficult to achieve success. With the development of the internet, it is common to see people share their achievements and work outcomes on social media like Facebook, Twitter, or WeChat Moments. Many investors can find commercial potential in these people. If you do not show your strengths, you will probably never get help from superior people. In that case, you cannot become successful because others have taken your opportunity.

In conclusion, showing your strengths and accomplishments will let you have more opportunities to be successful, while not showing your value will lead you to lose many chances and eventually cause success to become far away from you.
