SUSTech 2021 graduates prefer employment in SZ

NEARLY 80 percent of employed graduates from the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in 2021 chose Shenzhen for career development, an employment report released by the university showed.

Out of 1,082 graduates, over 70 percent chose to continue their studies and nearly 80 percent of the employed graduates chose to work in the city.

Among the students who chose further studies in China, most of them favored SUSTech and some of them chose other prestigious Chinese universities such as Tsinghua University, Fudan University and Zhejiang University. Among the students who chose further studies overseas, most of them favored the U.S. and Hong Kong. Nearly 40 percent of these students were enrolled in the top 50 universities of the QS World University Rankings.

Among the graduates for employment, 83 percent chose to work in Guangdong and 93 percent stayed to work in Shenzhen. Over 40 percent chose to work in private enterprises and 34 percent favored working in government agencies, research institutes and other social undertakings. Most graduates favored working in the fields of education, information technology and finance.

SUSTech graduates are employed by many famous companies such as Huawei, Xiaomi, Tencent, Intel, China Mobile and China Merchants Bank.
