‘The Batman’ goes high fashion with Lanvin, Fossil and more
    2022-03-04  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

“THE Batman” fans can suit up in stylish watches, designer bags, sleek sneakers, cool nail polishes and more ahead of the movie’s theatrical debut March 4. DC Comics and Warner Bros. Consumer Products are joining forces with a slew of fashion, beauty, fitness and toy companies, marking the largest drop of Dark Knight merch in over a decade and thus giving superfans plenty to add to their collections.

Lanvin, Puma, Fossil, EleVen by Venus Williams, Lego, Carhartt, Funko! Pop and Kross Studio are among the brands releasing “The Batman” collections.

Lanvin’s spring/summer 2022 collection, to be released this month, is comprised of dark jewel-toned ready-to-wear and accessories with an Art Deco-meets-Gotham aesthetic. Pieces range from eggplant purple leather blazers and skirts to satchels, metal mesh dresses and oversized men’s button-downs emblazoned with vintage illustrations of Batman and Catwoman.

Fans can also check out Fossil’s 10-piece collection of timepieces, luxe leather goods and jewelry that nod to the Dark Knight and the Riddler. The movie-inspired capsule line is priced from US$45 to US$400 and is comprised of card cases, a waist pack, a bifold wallet, a wax seal ring, a slider bracelet, a dog tag necklace, a backpack and Batman and Riddler watches.

Puma released its Batman collection of adults and kids footwear, apparel and accessories last week. Priced from US$22 to US$220, the line includes pieces inspired by the Caped Crusader and his Batmobile and Catwoman, such as the classic Puma suede shoes, a feline twist on the Fierce 2 sneakers, the RS-X and Mayze styles in all black with pops of red, and Court Rider kicks that nod to the two characters in the new film.

Runners and football players can also sport their Batman fandom with the Ultra and Future Z boots and other athletic gear made of Puma’s moisture-wicking DryCell material. Rounding out the line are women’s, men’s and kids hoodies, tees, T7 track suits, leggings, shorts, hats and more in Gotham-esque colorways and silhouettes.

Emilie Heathe’s limited-edition nail polishes and accessories let Batman-obsessed beauty buffs showcase their fandom on their manicures. The Batman Trilogy collection features moody metallic lacquers, aptly named Madness, The Dark Knight and Vengeance, as well as nail decals, a crystal nail file and beauty clips.

Among the many Warner Bros.-licensed products, the most expensive item is a luxury timepiece. The Batman Tourbillon Watch, an official license with Swiss design studio and manufacturer Kross Studio, retails at a price fit for Bruce Wayne: US$100,000.

It features a design inspired by the reimagined Bat Signal seen in the new film. And the purchaser gets not just the black-and-red timepiece, but also a functional, light-up aluminum sculpture of the Bat Signal. Together, the two pieces make up the limited-edition Batman Collector Set, of which only 10 are being produced and which will arrive in a specially made wooden box.

The watch is a 45mm hand-wound timepiece with a five-day power reserve. It’s made of Grade 5 titanium with black DLC coating and features a one-revolution-per-minute tourbillion in the center, with a bat emblem on the louvered tourbillon cage. Powering the watch is Kross Studio’s in-house developed and produced caliber KS 7000. In all, there are 283 parts in the watch, each handmade and assembled in Switzerland.

The Bat Signal is also a light, so you can use it to light up a room, and it’s also a watch box, so on the bottom there is a compartment to hide and store a watch.(SD-Agencies)
