FANS who went out to watch “The Batman” at a U.S. theater in Austin, Texas, were surprised to see a real live bat during the screening March 4. Jeremiah Milligan, a moviegoer who recorded a video at Moviehouse & Eatery by Cinépolis of the bat flying around, said he noticed the shadow of the bat flying around the projector. “I figured the bat was a part of the film until I noticed how out of place the bat was compared to the scene of the movie,” he said. The bat put the movie on pause while management called animal control and tried to get the critter out. Guests were offered their money back, but most chose to stick it out and watch the film “bat and all,” according to moviegoers. The Moviehouse & Eatery by Cinépolis says the bat was likely released into the theater as a prank. The theater’s general manager Heidi Deno said they will be “adding additional security and checking all bags upon guest entry to ensure a prank like this does not again occur.” There were no reports of anyone being bitten during the incident.
