Debra Li debra_lidan@163.com AS all live shows have been canceled at Shenzhen Concert Hall in accordance with the measures to fight against the resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic in town, its employees have taken every move to keep the show going online. In March, the concert hall provided two online programs for audiences: “Takeaway Music” introduces a short music piece including its background and recommended version of performance each Wednesday and Friday; and “Online Concert” offers each Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. the recast of a concert that has been previously performed at the venue. The former can be enjoyed at the official WeChat account of the concert hall while the latter is available on the streaming site Bilibili. Thus far, the three online Sunday concerts have respectively recast a show of artistic songs in memory of the 40th anniversary of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, an opera and a symphony concert performed by the China National Opera House Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Lyu Jia, and a concert featuring the works of composer/conductor Li Haiying performed by the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra led by the composer himself. Audiences were also invited to interact with emcees during the live streams, when membership cards, live show tickets and coupons were given out via lucky draws. In addition to the Shenzhen Concert Hall’s online performances, Shenzhen Poly Theater and Bay Opera of Shenzhen are also offering online programs on their official WeChat accounts. |
