Dameisha Wish Tower reopens after renovation
    2022-04-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

DAMEISHA Wish Tower, a landmark building in Dameisha Beach Park in Yantian District, will reopen Saturday, the first day of the May Day holiday, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

The tower was closed in 2018 after Super Typhoon Mangkhut wreaked havoc in Shenzhen. The Yantian District Government then cooperated with Shenzhen Haichuang Dreamland Cultural Tourism Co. Ltd. to renovate the building.

As one of the first tourist spots to apply the metaverse in China, the scenic spot introduces high technologies such as interaction of light and shadows, and holographic projection, while retaining the observation deck with aerial views.

It also boasts an immersive theater themed on underwater exploration, which will present visitors a wonderful journey to the sea.

The tower is equipped with a series of metaverse experience projects, such as underwater space-time tunnel, and 3D exploration games, with Deep Sea Fantasy the most notable among them.

Upon entering the fantasy world, visitors will be brought into an ocean full of stars. Down the slide of the neon arch bridge, visitors can not only appreciate floating humpback whales, jellyfishes and other colorful fishes, but also experience star slides, phantom waves and colorful corals. The use of virtual reality technology just brings the visitors to a wonderful dreamland.

Deep Sea Fantasy is an innovative tourism project integrating meta universe, interactive design and virtual and reality application technology, according to the report.

A high-altitude wish wall is also added to cater to the needs of young visitors, the report said.

“When the night falls, a gorgeous light show will also become the most dazzling scenery in Dameisha and even for all of Yantian District,” said Zhang Renfa, chairman of Shenzhen Haichuang Dreamland.
