THIS past May Day holiday saw a lot of Shenzheners enjoying a leisurely time outdoors by the sea and in local parks.

Statistics from the Urban Administration and Law Enforcement Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality revealed that nearly 2.3 million people visited parks in Shenzhen during the five-day holiday as of 5 p.m. Wednesday. Deterred by local showers and dropping temperatures, most people chose to stay indoors May 1 and 2.

The Shenzhen Bay Park in Nanshan District was the most popular destination, which received some 206,000 visitors, followed by Dameisha in Yantian, Yangtai Mountain in the city’s northwest, Bao’an Waterfront Cultural Park, and Lianhua Hill Park in Futian.(SD News)
