SHENZHEN’S industrial mother machinery industrial cluster has reported an increase of 15.1% year on year in terms of added value during the first quarter (Q1) of 2022, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

The city’s leading industrial mother machine enterprises, which benefited from the manufacturing industry’s transformation and upgrading as well as a boom in market demand, are now busy fulfilling orders and have sufficient operating capacity.

Industrial mother machine refers to the machine that makes machines. Despite the pandemic’s pressure on the global supply and logistics chains, China’s manufacturing industry is making steady headway in development, according to the Daily report.

With the rise of new energy vehicles and 5G industries, as well as constant upgrades in consumer electronics, there is a huge demand for medium- and high-end industrial mother machines.

As per Shenzhen’s 2022 government work report, Shenzhen will improve the innovation capacity in industrial mother machinery, precision instrument and intelligent robotics industries, and plans to launch over 50 new projects to make breakthroughs in key and core technologies, including industrial machinery-related ones.
