Clams released in ecological compensation
    2022-05-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A man releases undulate venus, a kind of saltwater clam, into the waters of Xiaochan Island, Bao’an District recently. Some 3 million undulate venus, commonly seen in South China Sea, which comes with a hefty price tag in seafood markets, were released back into the waters. This is part of an ecological compensation program supporting peripheral marine industry landing sites and the West-East Gas Transmission Project, and is believed to be one of the effective measures to recover marine fishery resources.
