COVID case

SHENZHEN reported one new asymptomatic COVID-19 case Wednesday, according to the city’s health commission.

The patient, a 42-year-old man who lives in Bantian Subdistrict, Longgang District, was detected among close contacts of a COVID patient reported earlier who have been put into central isolation. He has been transferred to the emergency ward of the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen for treatment and is in stable condition.

Park renovation

BAO’AN District is soliciting public opinions on the renovation plan of Xin’an Park until Saturday. The park, built in the beginning of the 1990s, is among the district’s first batch of parks made open to the public. The park’s renovation area is nearly 77,000 square meters. Man detained

A CITIZEN surnamed Deng who lives in Luohu District was administratively detained for 10 days for taking an e-bike lithium battery home, which later caught fire, according to Luohu police.

After receiving a call, Luohu firefighters immediately went to Deng’s home located in Xiaweixincun, Qingshuihe area and put out the fire. The fire burned an area of nearly 2 square meters, according to the police. It is illegal for citizens to take e-bikes or e-bike lithium batteries home. E-bikes should be safely placed outdoors instead.
