SHENZHEN Audencia Financial Technology Institute of Shenzhen University (SAFTI), a new cooperative education institution in the city, was officially approved by the Ministry of Education recently and will start enrolling students for its bachelor’s degree programs this summer.

The institute, jointly constructed by Shenzhen University (SZU) and Audencia Business School, France, planned to enroll the first batch of 260 undergraduate students this year, according to SZU.

SAFTI’s academic programs focus on fintech-related majors such as financial technology, big data management and applications, as well as blockchain and information system.

Based on resources of SZU WeBank Institute of Fintech, SAFTI said it will apply advanced school-running concepts in Europe to build the institute into a cultivation base for international fintech talents.

Under the institute’s bachelor’s degree programs, students no longer need to go overseas to gain two academic degrees issued by SZU and Audencia Business School after completing their four-year study and passing required exams.

Teaching staffers include excellent professors from both China and France and well-known elites in the financial industry and its related sectors.

Enrollment information will be released on the website https://zs.szu.edu.cn/index/.

The first master’s degree program, jointly created by SZU and Audencia Business School and approved by the country’s education authority in 2019, will be integrated into SAFTI, which has planned to enroll 80 postgraduate students each year.

The total number of students at SAFTI will reach 1,200, according to a plan unveiled by SZU.
