Liaison office THE United Arab Emirates (UAE) economic and trade liaison office of Shenzhen Committee of China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT Shenzhen) was officially inaugurated online in Shenzhen and Dubai. The UAE is an active economic destination along the Belt and Road and one important post for Shenzhen brands and products going global. The office, through close contacts with the UAE Government, UAE enterprises and Chinese enterprises in the UAE, will help Shenzhen enterprises enter and expand in the Middle East markets. So far, CCPIT Shenzhen has established liaison offices in 10 countries including Thailand, India and Egypt. Translation checks RESIDENTS are encouraged to send photos of bilingual signs with wrong or misleading English translation to the “深圳交通” official WeChat account or call the 12328 service hotline, a notice issued by the Shenzhen Municipal Transport Bureau said recently. The bureau launched an action across the city to correct the wrong English translations of public signs on roads or at transport hubs. The move is to further improve the city’s language environment, with corrections to be completed before mid-July. Bus route STARTING May 11, Shenzhen Bus Group opened it branch bus route B612 connecting Metro Line 10’s Donggualing Station and UpperHills, providing convenience to commuters in the community. The 2.4-kilometer circular route starts and ends at UpperHills in Futian District, passing Lianke No. 1 Road, Sungang Road West, Caitian Road, Lianke No. 3 Road and Lianke No.1 Road. It operates between 7:45 a.m. and 8 p.m. and can handle about 1,000 passenger trips a day. |
