Peng Libiao’s artworks

Young Chinese artist Peng Libiao is exhibiting his thought-provoking artworks at an exhibition running until May 29.

‘A Clock Stopped’

Old letters by more than 30 historical and cultural figures in the late 19th century and the 20th century, such as Liang Qichao, Xu Beihong, Zhang Daqian, Lu Xiaoman, Qi Gong and Zao Wou-ki, are on display at the “A Clock Stopped” exhibition until May 30, showing these figures’ love, friendship, temperament and affection through their private dialogues.

‘Drumming With Kubbe’

“Drumming With Kubbe” is an interactive concert experience for children, involving acting, singing, dancing, projections and instrumental music. The story is based on the “Kubbe” children’s books series by Norwegian illustrator Ashild Kanstad Johnsen, and was produced by the West End Philharmonic in Beijing. The pieces in the concert were composed by Stephan Hodel.

Fossils and woodcarvings

To find out what was going on in the oceans when dinosaurs dominated the land, visit the marine reptile fossil specimen exhibition which runs until Aug. 14. You will see some complete fossils of prehistoric sea animals. Meanwhile, exquisite gold-coated woodcarvings and gold lacquer items collected by the Shenzhen Museum and Guangdong Folk Craft Museum are also on display until Oct. 8.
