SHENZHEN will add 20,000 quotas for fuel-powered vehicles for individual bidders who have participated in the monthly lotteries and auctions for over 60 times by the end of May, but unfortunately failed to obtain one.

Qualified applicants who have applied for the monthly lottery in June can apply for the quotas specially designated for the “unlucky” bidders by Sunday through the iShenzhen app and the Shenzhen Municipal Transport Bureau’s WeChat account “深圳交通,” according to a notice issued by the bureau’s car quota administration office Tuesday.

The office will verify the applicants’ qualifications and announce the candidate results June 21 on its system platform. The lottery will be held at 10:30 a.m., June 29, and the result will be announced in the afternoon, as per the notice.

Those who fail to get a quota can attend the regular monthly lottery to be held June 30.

The increase in quotas for fuel-powered vehicles is one of the measures to further stimulate consumption recovery, bureau officials said.

Lottery winners can buy either fuel-powered vehicles or new energy vehicles (NEVs). If they choose fuel-powered vehicles, they must buy ones that are priced at more than 300,000 yuan (US$44,910) and the purchase must be made from May 23 to Dec. 31 this year.

For lottery winners who choose NEVs, they will be eligible for a subsidy of 10,000 yuan per vehicle if the vehicles are priced between 100,000 and 200,000 yuan, according to rules released by the Shenzhen Municipal Commerce Bureau.

If the NEV price is over 200,000 yuan, the subsidy will be 20,000 yuan per vehicle.
