THE Dasha River Culture and Sports Center in Taoyuan Subdistrict, Nanshan District, equipped with multifunctional sports venues, a library and a theater, will open to the public in August, sources from Nanshan District Cultural and Sports Center said Monday.

The 130,275-square-meter center, with two floors underground and eight floors on the ground, will have a badminton hall, basketball hall, table tennis hall, natatorium, theater, library, comprehensive hall and exhibition hall for public sports and fitness.

The facility, one of the major culture and sports facilities in Xili Lake International Science and Education Town, is located at the northwestern corner of Zhuguang and Longzhu No. 1 roads. It lies near the bank of Dasha River Ecological Corridor Park and between the Liuxiandong Headquarters Base and Tanglang Mountain Country Park.

In another development, the Antuoshan Public Culture Center was recently topped out and will be put into use in April next year. The project, covering 10,609 square meters, is located near Antuo Hill Metro Station.

It has a theater, music hall, library, sports center, kindergarten, safety education center and activity centers for the elderly, women and children.

The culture center is divided into three parts by functions. The kindergarten is an independent building that covers 2,509 square meters. The 150-meter high-rise is the center for cultural activities, while the skirt building mainly includes the exhibition hall, theater, music hall and library.
