‘The Invisible’

“The Invisible: Art at the X-Ray” (10 yuan), running until July 28, is showcasing x-ray artwork by French artist Xavier Lucchesi, offering a new angle of view to some Western classic artworks. Lucchesi uses x-rays to produce his images, a technology that allows him to see through matter, revealing the underlying forms, repentances, and stages of creation of works.

Fossils and woodcarvings

You will see some complete fossils of prehistoric sea animals at an exhibition which runs until Aug. 14. Meanwhile, exquisite gold-coated woodcarvings and gold lacquer items made in Guangdong are also on display until Oct. 8.

‘The Lost Kingdom’

An exhibition of bronzewares from the ancient Dian kingdom in Yunnan gives a glimpse into the history and culture of the area from 2,000 years ago. The exhibition runs until Sept. 18.

‘Artificial Enlightenment’

Two young Chinese artists Zoe Li and Rita Shi are exhibiting their works at the “Artificial Enlightenment” exhibition through July 16. Li investigates the abstract roles of human beings in a technological world, exploring the position of “self” within a system, which might be its cultural and historical heritage, a virtual space, or the physical world. Shi’s works explore the relations between humans, nature and technology.
