Shenzhen, a City of Design designated by the UNESCO, is home to some of the most creative minds in China.

Yong Siong Yow from Malaysia and Su Su from Tianjin, northern China, both born in 1983, are two aspiring young designers behind the studio 1983Asia, which specializes in brand, packaging and mascot design as well as art crossovers that render traditional Asian culture and aesthetics into modern visual expressions.

Asian comics and animations led the duo to a life path in design, while the desire to explore the possibility of design from the perspective of Asian culture brought them together as a team.
