When I joined Shenzhen Daily at age 27, I already assumed that my writing and ideas were too esoteric to ever find a publisher. Winton Dong [then editor-in-chief] plucked me out of a job that I was unsuited to and helped me fulfill the dream of getting my words in print.

Also, working at the paper from March 2011 till March 2013, I was instilled important disciplines, for example attention to detail, that I still use every day in both paid work and personal passion projects.
