SHENZHEN Airlines has recently completed the transformation of premium economy cabins of its whole fleet, covering over 96% of its flights, the highest in the industry, the airline said Saturday.

The premium economy cabins will be fully put into operation Aug. 1. Tickets for the cabins can already be booked online.

According to the airline, the new premium economy cabin is located between economy and business class cabins, forming a space independent of the economy class cabin with a curtain.

A premium economy seat offers passengers an average of nearly 50% more space than a regular economy class seat. Meanwhile, passengers can enjoy priority boarding and disembarking, and dedicated check-in areas are set up in some cities.

Shenzhen Airlines began the layout of premium economy cabins in some of its aircraft as early as 2013 and formulated corresponding configuration standards for subsequent newly introduced aircraft. In 2017, it piloted premium economy cabins on routes from Guangzhou and Shenzhen to East China.
