Chinese paintings

Jointly organized by the Nanjing Museum and the He Xiangning Art Museum, “From Dong Qichang to Fu Baoshi: Special Exhibition of Jinling Paintings Over 400 Years,” running until Oct. 12, showcases 180 paintings from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) to now, created by Jiangsu-based masters such as Dong Qichang, Fu Baoshi and Song Wenzhi.

‘Infinite Conscious Blue’

Chinese-American artist Yu Lanyin, who is in her 70s and has a deep fascination with the ocean, is exhibiting her ocean-themed ink paintings at the “Infinite Conscious Blue” exhibition until Oct. 18.

‘Strenuous Journey’

Chinese artist Wei Jia is showcasing abstract paintings at the “Strenuous Journey” exhibition until Aug. 28. Wei’s paintings are packed with skillful techniques in a specific painting language, such as the sense of color. They explore one’s spiritual side with subtle sentiments, attracting continuous attention from viewers.Having graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, Wei teaches at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute.

Edgar Plans’ works

Spanish artist Edgar Plans has brought his Little Hero character in a basketball-themed exhibition titled “Game On!” (78 yuan) running until Sept. 20. Wearing NBA jerseys, Little Hero has been transformed into Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, LeBron James and other stars in an array of colorful sculptures. Plans names graffiti, street art, comic books, illustrations and animated films as major influences.
