‘That Physics Show’

The Chinese version of “That Physics Show,” based on hundreds of physics experiments, features segments on motion, momentum, vacuum, friction, energy, density, fluid motion, sound waves and sound vibration, light waves, temperature and many more from the world in which we live. Audience members of all ages will enjoy this fun, engaging and interactive show.

Sure, you can watch these experiments online, but they are much more impressive live. In many ways, it is like a magic show. The stage will be strewn with contraptions that performers will use for their “tricks.” However, unlike magicians who fanatically guard the secrets to their illusions, performers will share you how everything works.

For science buffs, the outcomes may be obvious, but for those who are eager to learn science, it will be eye-popping. As the original show demonstrator David Maiullo is fond of saying, “Science is all about breaking things!”

Time: 3 p.m., Aug. 6

Tickets: 99-199 yuan

Three 27-meter-high fire-spewing dragon dogs, the Queen of the Night costume to break all records, three mythical creatures for the three ladies operated by puppeteers and dozens of stunt artists rushing around the stage, in his production for the Bregenz Festival, David Pountney offers “a spectacle of the highest caliber,” while providing new answers to the eternal questions surrounding Mozart’s “The Magic Flute.” The Kurier newspaper called it “a visually mind-blowing fairy tale,” with Die Welt adding “a colorful as well as smart ‘Magic Flute.’”
