Although there’s only one month left in the summer vacation, fun events don’t end. Bàng! Children’s Arts Festival, organized by OCT Harbour, OCT-LOFT, OCAT Shenzhen and OCT Park, opened recently in Nanshan District, presenting a series of enlightening and interactive events for children.

“Bàng” in Chinese pinyin means superb, and according to the festival organizers, it also stands for “be-friendly,” “artistic,” “natural” and “growing.” The festival, featuring exhibitions, workshops, forums, weekend bazaars, sports and art lessons, is designed for building a child-friendly street block and provides an enriched educational experience for children while they are playing. Check the venues’ WeChat accounts for event schedules.

OCT Harbour

The whole OCT Harbour has been decorated with cartoon figures and scenes from illustrations to stimulate children’s sense of their surroundings. Parades and bazaars on weekends, as well as workshops at the O’Plaza shopping center, encourage children and parents to create dialogues, and freely grow and explore. The organizers believe that through these events, visitors can push the limits of their imaginations through their creative expressions.

OCT-LOFT

Bring your children to a fun land where Chinese contemporary artists and their children’s paintings, sculptures and installations are on display. The free exhibition at C2 Space that is running through Sept. 4 is not only a show unleashing children’s imaginations but also explores powerful interactions between parents and children in education. Mural, textile, font and performance workshops will also be held at OCAT Shenzhen’s library this month. And don’t forget to roam in OCT-LOFT’s trademark T-Street Bazaar where you will find children-themed items this summer.
