Three exhibitions

Relics from Sanxingdui are on display at an exhibition running until Oct. 23 and ancient Chinese books collected by Shenzhen Museum are also on display through Oct. 30. An exhibition of bronzewares from the ancient Dian kingdom in Yunnan gives a glimpse into its history 2,000 years ago. The exhibition runs until Sept. 18.

Shows in Guangming

The Viola Villa Ensemble from Beijing will perform Bach’s “Ciaccona for Four Violas,” Vivaldi’s “Viola Quartet,” Saint-Saens’ “Danse Macabre,” Dester’s “Adagio,” Faure’s “Pavane Op. 50,” Shostakovich’s “Galop” and Chinese folk pieces at a concert (50 yuan) Friday night. On Saturday night, Chinese musician Fang Jinlong will give a performance (80-680 yuan). He is renowned for playing crossover music on the pipa, a traditional Chinese instrument.

Double piano concert

Michael Tsalka and Leonard Lindweld will give a double piano concert and the program includes Schubert’s “Fantasy for Piano Four Hands in F Minor, D.940” and “Allegro in A Minor, D.947,” Brahms’ “Hungarian Dances,” Pachabel’s “Canon in D for Piano Four Hands” and Chinese pieces.

Lu Pingyuan

Chinese artist Lu Pingyuan is exhibiting contemporary artworks inspired by German fairytale “Hansel and Gretel” at an exhibition running until Oct. 30. The artist’s thoughts in fairytales or animations give him a special power and his works are often enigmatic and wondrous.
