WITH the 2022 Shenzhen Shopping Season in full swing, district-level consumer festivals have begun one after another, aiming to further encourage residents’ consumption.

This year, Luohu District launched its first nighttime fashion consumer festival to promote the night economy and introduce new night spending hotspots.

During the festival, various events are being held at its main venue at Dongmen Pedestrian Street, as well as at Yingbin Square, Shenzhen Theater, streets near Dongmen Yitang Service Apartment, and the Guiyuan and Renmin South areas.

The first Beer Festival and Hong Kong & Macao Food Festival are being planned, featuring beer, food and art toys. A traditional Chinese clothing show will be held at Sun Plaza & Department Store, while the Midsummer Light and Music Cultural Festival will be staged at Dongmenting.

Additionally, several promotional activities for fashion, automobile, jewelry, dining, lodging, sports and tourism are heating up in five of Luohu’s major business areas, including Dongmen, Caiwuwei, Sungang, Shuibei and Renmin South.

Meanwhile, the district government has spent 20 million yuan (US$2.97 million) in boosting residents’ spending, with 6 million yuan in subsidies for night consumption, 5 million yuan in vouchers for vehicle consumption, 2 million yuan in e-commerce coupons and 7 million yuan in funds for promotional campaigns.

Residents can also take part in a lucky draw for digital yuan (e-CNY) coupons issued by the government and Bank of China. The coupons will be distributed once a month from August to October. The round for August has ended, and the start of the next rounds will be announced via the “礼享罗湖” WeChat account. The lucky draw can be accessed via the “数币欢乐购” miniprogram.

Nanshan District, meanwhile, has organized a consumption promotion campaign, among which, a new batch of electronic shopping vouchers worth 5 million yuan in total are being handed out until tomorrow.

Residents can avail of discount coupons for 178 brands for electronic products, household appliances and food. Maximum discounts for brands such as OPPO, DJI and Skyworth are 25%.

The vouchers are distributed daily on a first-come, first-served basis, and each person can get six e-vouchers at a time. The e-coupons can be found at the “分期乐” app.
