
A China-made bullet train customized for the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway in Indonesia is being loaded onto a ship in Qingdao, East China’s Shandong Province, in this Aug. 18 photo released yesterday. The ship, carrying a set of bullet trains and a set of inspection trains designed and manufactured by China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation, set sail for Indonesia yesterday. The 243-km Jakarta-Bandung rail, connecting the capital city of Jakarta to the textile hub of Bandung, is the first high-speed rail link not only in Indonesia, but in Southeast Asia. With trains capable of reaching speeds of up to 350 km per hour, the line will cut the journey between Jakarta and the capital of Indonesia’s West Java province from over three hours to just 40 minutes.Xinhua |
