New Luohu greenway

THE 3.67-kilometer Zhengkengshui biological way at Wutong Mountain Scenic Park in Luohu District will open to the public later this month, sources from Luohu Water Resources Bureau said Wednesday.

Along the way, four pavilions (for resting) and a parking lot were built. In the action plan for its high-quality development (2022-2023), the district will invest 107 billion yuan (US$15.5 billion) on 103 projects to improve its residents’ well-being. The projects include the renovation and expansion of Donghu Water Plant, Metro Line 11’s Phase II, the eastern extension of Shennan Road East, upgrading of checkpoints and construction of greenways.

The ecological projects include building the ecological corridor linking Yinhu-Honggang and Weijing areas, and the greenway around the Wutong Mountain River and its branches, and the greenway around Yinhu Lake.

Undersea tunnel

TUNNEL boring work has completed on Mawan Undersea Tunnel when two machines from opposite directions met at 11:18 p.m. Tuesday, about 30 meters underwater off the coast of Qianhai, sources from the city’s transport bureau said.

The tunnel is part of the Mawan Cross-Sea Passage which runs 8.05 kilometers, linking Mawan Boulevard in Qianhai and Jinwan Boulevard at Xixiang in Bao’an District.

Passenger turnover

SHENZHEN’S railway terminals handled a total of 8.73 million passenger trips, including 7.35 million arrivals, during the two-month summer transport season that ended Thursday.

The city’s high-speed railway stations handled 7.41 million passenger trips, 82.4 more year on year, data from Shenzhen North Railway Station showed. The regular trains at Shenzhen and Shenzhen East railway stations handled 1.32 million passenger trips.
