RCEP benefits

SHENZHEN Customs has issued exporters 13,500 certificates of origin for goods worth 3.32 billion yuan (US$476.72 million), with which the importers can enjoy tariff reduction or exemption under the RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) arrangement since it took effect Jan. 1 this year.

The export products include items traditionally manufactured in Shenzhen like bags and suitcases, plastic products, and garments, data from Shenzhen Customs showed yesterday.

In addition, between January and August, South Seas Oil and Fats Industrial (Chiwan) Ltd. exported 8,428 tons of edible oil worth 118 million yuan to RCEP countries. The certificate of origin of its rapeseed oil exported to Japan enabled its importers to enjoy a 286,000-yuan tariff reduction.
